Monday, May 18, 2009 "For every animal that dies in a shelter, a human somewhere is responsible for it." I am unsure of who is responsible for this quote, but it's very powerful! A friend of mine recently had to put her cat in a shelter and it was very heart wrenching for everyone involved. I can't imagine how bad it must feel to have to do that to your pet, especially when you really don't want to do it in the first place. If you ever want to adopt a pet, please check out a local animal shelter.

Reviews are becoming somewhat commonplace here on MoonPrism. Well, as most of you know, I've been planning on making a YouTube adaptation of Beautiful Atrocity, and I've found lots of fantastic voice actors and actresses, as well as an amazingly talented colorist. I, of course, do the writing, sketching, and inking on my own, and I decided to buy some Rapidograph pens to ink my work. I checked DickBlick first, and then decided to go to eBay. The pens are insanely expensive, but I found a seller who had a 7 piece set for $30, plus $10 shipping, so all together, $40. I won, yay, and got it a few days later. The pens were, as advertised, used. It took extensive cleaning to get them to work, which was fine because the seller said that would probably be the case. I emailed her to let her know I was having trouble cleaning them, and she emailed back and gave me some tips. One of the pens didn't even have an ink reservoir (or well, as I've heard others say), rendering the pen completely useless. Unless I were to take the reservoir out of other pens, thus making a huge ink mess, I can't use this pen at all. I emailed her and told her, and she told me to go buy an ink reservoir from a drafting store and that she would refund me the cost. Okay, fine, except there are absolutely no drafting stores (or any other sort of art store) within a 200 mile radius. I told her that, and asked her if it was possible she could pick one up for me, or give me a refund for the non-usable pen. I calculated that $30/7 pens = about $4.30. She emailed back and told me she would be fine with refunding, but suddenly, it's an 8 piece set with the ink included. Bwuh? She listed it as a 7 piece set, it's all over the Internet as a 7 piece set, but as soon as she has to refund me for a non-usable piece, it's an 8 piece set, making my refund $3.75. This made me really angry. I decided that the extra 55 cents was worth just leaving her a negative feedback, which I rarely do. You can see her items here.
In other news, I'm on vacation from school and am getting caught up on all orders, and I'm also talking with an agent about Beautiful Atrocity, which could have a huge impact on the YouTube adaptation. We'll see!

I've decided that, since my YouTube account died horribly, I'll be able to redo everything over time, and I'm going to start with everything on the Sailor Moon page, and just work my way through chronologically, UNLESS things are ordered, in which case those will be up first. I'm going to go ahead and update all the prices tonight because I'm bored and have 23 episodes of 3rd Rock From The Sun to watch.

OKAY HI. Things have exploded around here. I now have a personal assistant to help with the insane amount of emails I get everday, especially over on youtube. We can get your questions answered faster that way. Lots of requests have been made, too. I'll fill them when I have time. In order of top priority to least priority, here they are.

I'm almost almost to 200 youtube subscribers, and I will have a special treat when that happens! Try to remember I can't do everything immediately. I'm one person (and a personal assistant that gets paid in lots of love and hugs and kisses, and then a little brother and a cousin who occasionally hold things still for me) and I'm a full time college student and I'm working on another book. I have to have 50k words by April 23rd and I'm only at 30k... so be patient!

I spent today fixing the cart feature, so everything is officially safe to order. There are some weird things, though. I put youtube videos on many of the item description pages, but the youtube video items look much different that the photos. If you notice this, it's prudent to expect what is in the videos because the pictures are super old. I'll be remaking a lot of stuff and putting up the new pictures, but my camera has vanished. By tomorrow night, I should have all of the pictures of my models in the item description pages as well, but for now, it's a little bare but finally it's fully functional! Also, new non-cosplay Sailor Moon items are coming soon!

Well, that didn't go as planned. Tonight I had some tiaras made and thought I would take some pictures and get them online, but I couldn't find my camera. I used my little brother's camera and the pictures are terrible. I think the camera might actually be smarter than me. I'm sure my own camera is under a pile of dirty clothes in my bedroom (I take wonderful care of my things), so as soon as I find it, I'll have all kinds of pictures up. In the meantime, I'm going to be slowly changing the HTML on most of the pages as well as updating the cart feature and prices.

I've been out of commission for a while! Yahoo changed servers and since I'm such an old domain name, I kind of got shuffled and lost. So, for five days, I was gone. The item pages still have old shipping charges which could potentially be a lot more expensive than what they should be. I have a few things on eBay, so check it out! Not a whole lot, but it all ends today. I have models now, sort of, but the have prior engagements so having them for photoshoots is tricky. My shipping prices have increased because of an influx of things disappearing in the mail while being uninsured. This is good, though - now everything, no matter where in the world it's going, is being shipped Priority Mail and has insurance! This protects both you and me if something disappears in the mail or arrives broken.

I can't believe it's already almost October. Halloween is coming fast! The other day, I discovered a place called Complex Plastics Inc. I have been wanting to revamp the time staff, so I thought this would be the perfect place to go to do it. The website is atrocious, but I know my website isn't perfect so I didn't mind. I was confused about their pricing, so today I called. The guy I spoke with was kind of hard to understand, and extremely rude. He yelled at me when I asked for a price and then hung up on me. He interrupted me when I was telling him what I wanted. I'm not sure if he's the owner, but when I called back to speak with a manager, the guy hung up on me again. So, if you're wanting to do your own crafts, definitely avoid that place. Thus far, I've had no luck finding what I need to update the time staff but wish me luck! I refuse to give up already.

Things have been pretty crazy lately. I'm filling orders at light speed, but I still feel behind. Especially now that school has started again. I'll never forget you, summber break. In other news, you should check out Operation Bag of Home. A direct quote, "What we are doing there is making 4x5 bags (that can fit into a soldier's pocket, basically), filling them with small items like wet ones, powdered drinks, etc., and then ship them to troops overseas. We are really struggling to collect enough "stuffing" material but are making some progress there. If you have endless bottles of shampoo or soaps from hotel stays, we are taking those as well." I know a lot of you cosplayers stay in hotels, so support the people serving our country to the highest degree by sending your soaps and stuff. It's such a brilliant thing to do.

Happy Father's Day! Things around here have been insane. Lots of orders. Also, someone broke into my house. After that, I didn't sleep for three days. When I finally did, I slept 15 hours straight. Then I was sleeping 13 hours at a time. It was annoying. Things are much calmer now. Thanks for all the emails of concern I got about the break in. I updated all the prices on each page, so now inner and outer senshi have updated prices. Yay! I'm going to try to fix the wonky banner sizes before I get to bed but no promises! Slowly but surely I am updating the prices and even getting some new items! I just finished updating all of the prices on Sailor Moon's page but I have yet to put up the new items. Things have been crazy with school, but I'm trying to strike a balance. This time next month the website should be done being fiddled with!

I got most of the recent orders out in the mail today. I still have the order with the kalied moon scope and two brooches at home with me but they will be done soon. I have a ten page paper due tonight so I have to focus on that first. Sorry! No worries, everything is under control. Mostly! The site is due for a huge makeover and everything will have new pictures and new designs come April 12-15. Thanks for sticking by me since August 2002, fellow Sailor Moon fans!
